Who is IMAS

So far, we are a collection of US citizens and Argentines that see a vast amount of practical knowledge and skills developed by those of us living here.

On the other hand, we encounter newer arrivals that either are seeking those same skills or are "re-inventing the wheel" in isolation without the assistance that many of us were lucky enough to enjoy.

We have this crazy idea that if we were simply to pool our skills and abilities and know-how, and make them publicly available, life would be much easier for ourselves and newcomers alike.

By the same token, we also think that new knowledge and talents arrive each day with the same people that could use a little garden-variety help getting started. Just maybe, those same new people can help us with their own particular expertise.

We are, therefore, a group that hopes to make the collective knowledge of all those among us available to everyone. If we do it right, there will be more of us everyday.

We are NOT a group of people that sells anything to anyone nor seeks to profit from any activity. Of course, even today, many of us buy and sell things as individuals among Argentines and non-Argentines alike.

However, the only currency we will ever use is voluntary, individual assistance in all the many ways that we can make happen.

IMAS has no political philosophy and is not affiliated with any political party nor nationality.

At this point, we primarily devote ourselves to English speakers as a matter of practicality. Many of us are fluent in other languages, however, and will never turn away anyone for any reason if there is a possibility of being of assistance.

We foresee ourselves becoming a very decentralized network of "gurús", if you will, with one or more in each of the following areas of expertise:

Absentee voting Citizenship/residency Banking/currency Business Drivers licensing Employment and employing Family and children Food Housing/Utilities Information technology Legal Medical Repairs Spanish Transportation Travel Volunteering and charity
