Customs

The customs in Argentina has become more strict of late with goods carried through on flights. On my trip in September 2009, they pulled all computer gear out and checked for model numbers to determine the value on everything -- even though nothing was boxed.

If you plan to ship items unaccompanied, you should obtain your permanent residence first, as the process is long and difficult. When we arrived here in April of 2008, I had to spend 4 full days (10am to 4pm) to get my goods cleared through customs -- not to mention the costs.
